Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary Jo's name to Catholic Charities, catholiccharities.org. She was born in Escanaba, Mich., on Oct. 30, 1937, to Thomas Bolger and Kathleen Roddy Bolger. She grew up a "Yooper" (a native of the Michigan Upper Peninsula), graduated from Gladstone High School and moved to Milwaukee, Wis., where she met her husband, Donald "Skip" Klase, in 1957. After a career with Northwest Airlines, she and Skip married Feb. 24, 1962. After the birth of two children, the family moved to Arlington in 1972, where Skip worked at the GM plant in data processing. Mom went back to college in 1975, despite being a full-time mom, wife and student, and graduated summa cum laude with a psychology degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1979. In 1987, she achieved her master's degree in religious education from Regis College in Denver, Colo. Mom culminated her vocation as Director of Religious Education for the Diocese of Fort Worth from 1983 to 1992 through her avocation of religious education, including positions at University Catholic Community at UTA, St. Maria Goretti, St. Matthews, St. Joseph's and St. Vincent de Paul parishes in Arlington. Mom loved to travel, taking several trips to Europe and the Holy Land, and extensive travels across the U.S. to visit friends and family. She was a wicked bridge player and she and our dad would high-five each other for a week if they won on their monthly Saturday Bridge Club. She had an affinity for lighthouses, was an incredible chef and never missed her children's soccer, baseball, football game or ballet recital. The family would like to thank her best friends Sophie, Rosie, Ginny and Bebe, for their constant vigils through thick and thin - many people do not have one friend like all of you - Mom had four; Dr. Riaz Haider; caregivers Joyce, Etta; the entire staff at Town Hall Estates and the ICU at Medical Center Arlington; and Kindred Hospital, for their loving care of our mom. She was always in the best of hands. Mom was prededed in death by her parents; husband, Skip (1985); one sister, Catherine; and brother, Thomas Jr. Survivors: Sister, Patricia McMahon and brother-in-law, Terry, of Stoddard, N.H.; daughter, Cheryl Klase, son-in-law, John Eder Jr., and granddaughter, Claire Eder, of Dallas; son, Sean Klase of Arlington; sisters-in-law, Mae Klase and Dorothy Langlois of Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.
