Gardner, Max Hudson Max Hudson Gardner, born October 2, 1930 in Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Richardson, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Max grew up in Muleshoe, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy as a SONAR operator during the Korean War, and attended Texas Tech University, Tarleton State University and North Texas State University, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration. He later joined the Travelers Insurance Company, and settled in Richardson with wife Audrey in 1961, retiring from Travelers in 1988. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and a golf enthusiast. In retirement he made new friends at Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson. Max is survived by his wife, Audrey Gowing Gardner; his daughter Patricia Gardner Bloom and her husband Mark Bloom of Houston; his son, Michael Gardner of Richardson; and three grandchildren: Alexander Bloom, Logan Bloom and Caylie Bloom; and his brother Paul E. Gardner and wife Helen Holt Gardner of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.J. and Elizabeth Hudson Gardner of Muleshoe, and brother Don J. Gardner of Cleveland, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Saint Barnabas Presbyterian Church, 1220 West Belt Line Road, in Richardson.
