Kellar, Patricia Martin Age 56, of Dallas, died peacefully on June 18, 2014 of cancer. Patty was born January 2, 1958 in Pasadena, California to Joseph and Janet Martin. Patty spent most of her early childhood with her mother in Cincinnati before moving to Dallas when she was ten. Patty attended The Greenhill School and was involved with cheerleading and theatre where she played the lead in the school's production of South Pacific. One of her proudest moments was being named Homecoming Queen in her senior year. After graduating from Greenhill, Patty attended the University of Texas. In 1979, Patty became a flight attendant at American Airlines and enjoyed an illustrious 35 year career. Patty was a long time member of the Les Fleurs Des Jeunes Garden Club where she once served as Club President. She was also an active member in the Bent Tree Women's Golf Association and enjoyed playing golf on a regular basis. Patty loved the holidays and always had the house festively decorated during those times. She enjoyed needlepointing and created Christmas stockings for everyone in her family. There was nothing Patty enjoyed more than traveling with her family, particularly to her favorite destination of Kauai. She had a great love of the water and was happiest when gazing at the blue waters of the Pacific. In addition, she was especially fond of the annual trips she made to Europe with her family. Patty was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Martin and stepfather Robert McDowell. She is survived by her husband Bill and their two children, Katie and Laura. She is also survived by her mother, Janet McDowell of Dallas, Texas; her brother and sister in law, Bobby and Kelly McDowell and their daughter Madison, of Dallas, Texas; her sister and brother in law, Jenny and Jason Lichty and their daughters Emily and Cara of Dallas, Texas; her sister Kimberly Martin of Bloomington, Indiana. We will always remember Patty for her love and devotion to her family and friends. She had an infectious smile and a kind heart. Throughout her life she displayed great character, dignity, honesty and humility. She will be with us wherever we go. A reception celebrating Patty's life will be held from 3-5 p.m. on July 10 at Bent Tree Country Club, 5301 Westgrove Drive. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Bonnie J.
