Stone MD, Richard C. Richard Cole Stone, M.D., Las Vegas, died peacefully in his sleep, May 7, 2013. Born in Durham, N. C., 1933, he married Sandra (Sandy) Ferrell in 1957 and they had two boys, Richard, Jr. of Dallas, TX and Joseph Craig of Jupiter, FL. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree from Duke University in Durham, NC and went on to earn his medical degree in 1962 from Duke University Medical School. Richard was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society and won many scholastic awards for achievement. Richard proudly served his country in the US Army for four years and served an additional four years in the Army Reserves. In 1965, Richard joined the Dallas Medical & Surgical Clinic in Dallas, TX where he practiced Gastroenterology for 26 years and was loved by all his patients and staff. He loved deep sea fishing and traveled the world with Sandy on many great fishing adventures. Retiring in 1991, he and Sandy moved to Las Vegas, where he lived another 22 years until this his final journey home.
