Elam, Richard M. (Dick) Richard M. (Dick) Elam, Jr., was born July 16, 1920, in Richmond, VA, to his parents, Louise and Richard M. Elam, Sr., and passed away March 15, 2013. Dick, a veteran of WWII, served four years in the Army Air Force. He was a devoted member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church since 1951, and worked for the silk printing industry with Precision Silk Screen since 1956. Dick was an educated man who attended William and Mary College in Richmond, VA, Phoenix College and Arizona State University. An avid writer, Dick wrote Juvenile Articles, stories and six books in the 1960's. His passions were reading, writing and listening to classical music. He is survived by the Butch Rushing family and his friends at Cliff Temple Baptist Church. A special thank you is extended to Lennwood Nursing home by the Rushing family for the care they gave to Dick. Funeral services are 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday, March 18, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel.
