Butler, Robert Kyle Was born March 27, 1927 in McAdoo, Dickens County, Texas to Robert A and Loula Martin Butler. He passed away December 23, 2012. Kyle was born on the west Texas farm that his grandfather settled in 1913. After graduation from McAdoo High School, he attended Texas A&M University before joining the Navy serving on the destroyer-escort, USS Heyliger just before the end of World War II. In 1947 he moved to Dallas to work at Plumbers Supply Company where he met and married Betty Harvey in 1950. They were married 62 years. He managed teams in Boys Baseball Inc for six years, served as President of BBI, and head score keeper of the Dallas Amateur Baseball Association. In 1980 he formed Butler Leak Locators, the only leak detection company in the Dallas area at that time. Kyle retired in 2003. Kyle is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Eugenia Toland and Alcia Hester. He is survived by wife, Betty Harvey Butler; sons, Ralph Butler and wife Jean McSweeney Butler, Frank Butler and wife Ann Ramage Butler, all of Dallas; grandchildren, Amanda Butler of New Orleans, Louisiana, Zachry Butler and Leah Butler, both of Dallas and several nieces and nephews. Kyle loved his family and many friends, and they loved him. Kyle was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved Texas A&M University, Aggie football, Texas Ranger baseball, beekeeping, square dancing and woodworking. Visitation shall be at Restland Funeral Home Thursday Dec. 27 from 6-8 pm. There will be a private graveside service. A reception for friends and family will be held at the home of Frank and Ann Butler, 6442 Axton Lane, Dallas on Saturday, Dec 29 from 1-5 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Texas A&M Foundation, Robert A Butler Family Scholarship Fund. 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, TX 77840-2811.
