Ruth Clarkson Obituary
Clarkson, Ruth Elizabeth Ruth Elizabeth Clarkson passed away Dec. 20, 2013 at the age of 96. She was born Dec. 18, 1917 to Olaf Otto and Christina Carlson. She was raised in Strandquist, Minnesota and graduated from Stephen High School in Stephen, Minnesota in 1936. She graduated from Andrews Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. She served in the Army 167th General Hospital Unit from January 1943 to February 1946 as 1st Lieutenant Army Nurse Corp and served in France during WW II where she met her husband and life mate of 54 years, Wilbur H. Clarkson, Sr. Ruth worked 25 years as a registered nurse at the University of Texas at Arlington Health Center. She loved the Lord Jesus and is a member of First Baptist Church , Arlington, Texas where she served on the bereavement committee and volunteered at Mission Arlington for many years. She loved working in her flowerbeds and yard. She was an artist and loved to paint. She loved coffee and had a sweet tooth that was insatiable (probably the reason she was so sweet). She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her 3 children and their spouses, Herb (Sherry) Clarkson, Tamara (Dwayne) Boozer, Meryl (Mary) Clarkson, her 6 grandchildren, Tiffany, Jennifer, Jeff, Cory, Eric and Ryan, her 9 great grandchildren Zach, Brandon, Dylan, Trent, Malorie, Baby to be born any day, Spencer, Aidan & Caleb and the wonderful healthcare workers at Sophya's Assisted Living in Mesquite, Texas, Sophya, Marcy, Julie, Haydee and Alma. ( The family thanks you for your loving kindness and care for MaMaw in her decline with dementia.) She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her 12 siblings. Visitation Sun. 12-22-13, 3 to 5 pm & Service Mon.12-23-13 at 9:30 am at Moore Funeral Home (both in the Chapel) 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington, TX, 76012 with burial to follow at Moore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mission Arlington or a .
