Scott Bailey Obituary
Bailey, Lloyd "Scott" Long-time Mesquite resident, Scott Bailey, was laid to rest at the Mesquite City Cemetery on Monday, June 3, 2013. Pallbearers included Dowd Bailey, Dean Bailey, Keith Moschitta, Ken Eckenroth, Ken Flournoy, and Larry Rogers. The burial followed a service at Sunnyvale First Baptist Church. Scott Bailey was born on January 23, 1959, and died from natural causes on May 29, 2013. He was a North Mesquite Stallion, and graduated with honors in 1977. After high school, he attended Southwest Texas State University, where he joined the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He later transferred to Texas A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Distribution in 1982. After college, Scott worked for several years as an Account Manager for Square D. He later joined Southwestern Bell (now AT&T), where he had just completed his 20th year of service. His honors included being named to the President's Club and the Fortune 500 Club. In 1998, Scott was elected to the Supervisory Committee at Go Federal Credit Union, where he served in numerous capacities, most recently as Board of Directors - Vice Chair. Scott was a loving father to his eight children. As a Scoutmaster for a number of years, his sons excelled in Pinewood Derby competitions. He played soccer, and was an avid fan. He could often be found at games with his vuvuzela. Scott also enjoyed socializing and hanging out with friends at the boat dock. He never met a stranger, and was a devoted friend. His family and friends are comforted knowing Scott is with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Alton Bailey. Donations in Scott's memory can be made to the .
