Memorial services for Warren N. Tomlinson will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2:00pm at Wilshire Baptist Church; 4316 Abrams Road in Dallas, TX. Born in Deport, TX on February 21, 1921 and passed away on December 29, 2012. Warren moved to Dallas at the age of 8. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School and Texas A&M University. He volunteered for WWII in 1942 and was commissioned as a 1stLT in the Army Air Corp as a navigator on a B-17 Bomber. He flew 35 missions with the 385th Bomber Group and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He is known for his desire for service to others. He held many volunteer positions throughout his life, including Pres. of White Rock Kiwanis Club, Pres. of the Board of White Rock Center of Hope, and many spiritual appointments at hospitals and churches in the Dallas area. Preceded in death by his first wife of 58 years, Pauline McGhee Tomlinson and his eldest son, Warren Tomlinson, Jr. Survived by two children, Nancy Gound and Douglas Tomlinson, 7 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. In 2000 he married his second wife, Patsy Tomlinson, which brought him 2 step-children and 4-step-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to go to: Wilshire Baptist Church or White Rock Center of Hope.
