Barr, William Watson William Barr, age 89, passed away on Sunday, March 9th at Select Services Hospital in Carrollton. Mr. Barr was born December 14, 1924 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was the son of the late T. Ralph Barr and Kathleen Jenkins. Bill was a World War II veteran and member of the 91st Chemical Mortar Battalion assigned to Patton's Third Army. After the war, he returned to Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State. He met and married the love of his life, Janet Geiersbach, and they eventually settled in Dallas. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, getting together with friends and cheering on his favorite football team - the Nittany Lions of Penn State. He was fortunate to be surrounded by many people that loved him dearly. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, and leaves behind their son Steve Barr and his wife Karen of Flower Mound; their daughter Linda Allard and her husband David of Lewisville; and his grandchildren Kathryn Allard, Dawson and Ella Grace Barr. A memorial service and inurnment will be held Saturday, March 15th at 4:00 pm at Church of the Holy Communion, 17405 Muirfield Drive, Dallas, Texas. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church's memorial fund.
