Rhynes, Willie P. Of DeSoto, Texas, passed away on February 26, 2013. Willie was born in Emhouse, Texas on July 6th 1950 to Jeff Rhynes and Viola Thomas. Upon graduation from High School, he enlisted and proudly served his country in the US Army from 1969 to 1974. He served in the Vietnam War and was the recipient of numerous medals and honors. He was honorably discharged in 1974, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Willie began work for The Dallas Morning News as a Press Operator. Showing great leadership, he was shortly promoted becoming the first minority to serve in management as general foreman. He retired in 2011, giving 37 total years to the Dallas Morning News. Willie leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his wife Anicia, children Floyd Lynn, Marcus Darrell, Kimberlyn Lynett, Misty Michelle, Christopher Alexander, Shamica Jeanell, 9 grandchildren along with extended family and friends. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am March 8th, 2013 at Golden Gate Funeral Home 4155 S.R.L. Thornton Frwy Dallas, Tx. 75224. Visitation will be held at 8:30pm - 9:30pm March 7th, 2013 at Golden Gate Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Dallas-Fort Worth National Memorial Cemetery at 1:15pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Golden Gate Funeral Home.
