News Death Notice

ALI, Abdul Karim R. formerly James R. Crosby, age 72, of Dayton, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at VA Hospice. Born January 10, 1941 to the late Theodore & H. Christine Crosby. A graduate of Dunbar High School, class of 1959. He attended Central State University & Urbana College. A veteran of the United States Air Force, a counselor at Project Cure, an organizer of Model City Project and a member of the Golden Gloves Boxing Organization with numerous awards. Also preceded in death by his sister, Jean M. Armstrong; son, Jeffrey Alexander. He leaves to celebrate his life, his son, Kasey Alves; daughters, Joan (David) Carroll, Jerilyn Hampton-Sawyer, Jamie Simpson, Jihan Boddie-Ali, Lacey Thompson; sisters, Jennifer Champion, Jocelyn Crosby, Judy August, Janneice (George) Young; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Homegoing service will be held 11 am Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Iman Muhammad Musa officiating. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
