News Death Notice
PHILLIPS, Dallas R. age 71 of Germantown, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 10, 1942 in Crichton, WV to the late Charles Cecil Phillips and Virginia Parks Quillen. Also preceding him in death, a brother, Cecil Phillips; and sisters, Jo Ann Tolman and Linda Hughart. Dallas is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Carolyn (Walkup) Phillips; children, Dallas R. Phillips, Jr., Susan Phillips, and Steven Phillips; grandchildren, Bo and Haley Phillips, Sarah and Emma Phillips; and many other extended family and friends. He served in the U.S Navy during the Vietnam War then went on to work at General Motors, retiring in 1999. Dallas has been a longtime member of the Farmersville Masonic Lodge and the Franklin Christian Church. Friends and family may visit from 6-8 pm on Sunday, October 13 at Gebhart-Schmidt- Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, October 14 at the funeral home with Pastor Jon Sullivan officiating. Interment following at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville. I am so saddened by the passing of Tink. Our family reunions will be changed forever. I am so blessed to have known him and to have such special memories to hang onto. My heart goes out to Carolyn, Dallas Ray, Susan, and Stevie. I love you all and will keep you in my prayers.

I can't remember ever seeing Tink without a smile on his face...we could not have wished for our daughter to have had a better father-in-law and the granddaughters a better papaw. Tink was such a nice gentle man and fun to be around.... He and I had lots of good chats at the family reunions. My heart goes out to you dear Carolyn.
He will be so missed. I'm sorry I can't come to Ohio at this time but will be thinking of you all!
