DELONG, Jr. Delbert P. "Ike" beloved husband, son, brother, father, uncle, grandpa and great-grandpa passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 10, 2014. He was born on August 24, 1940 in Nelsonville, OH to the late, Delbert Sr. and Sylvia DeLong. Also preceding him in death is his sister, Mary DeLong (January 2014); mother-in-law, Christine Dorton (May 2013); 2 brother-in-laws and a nephew. Delbert is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Beverly (McDonald) DeLong; sisters, Patti (John) Cox Sr. and Diana Ransdell; children, Victoria McAuliffe, Kimberley (Don) Kidd, Robert (Sharry) Bucholz, Joseph (Donna) Bucholz, Sandra Bucholz, Marcia (David) Dyer, Priscilla DeLong(Tony Cole); 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sandra McDonald as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many, many cousins. He graduated from Wilbur Wright High School. Delbert was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing the guitar. He loved going to horse races and casinos, but most of all loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Family will receive guests from 9am-10am on Wednesday, April 16 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 10am. Interment will be in the Veterans Association Cemetery, Dayton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American or the , in memory of Delbert.
