News Death Notice
JONES, E. Everett Age of 96 of Dayton Ohio passed away on April 10th 2014. Born April 11, 1917 in Lima, Ohio, son of John and Helen (Keller) Jones. He was moved to Dayton, where he spent the rest of his life. He graduated from Stivers High School in 1935. He attained his student pilots license at the age of 18 and from that time flying became his life passion. In 1939 Everett married Wiladene Benner. They would have been married 75 years in June. In 1942 Everett joined the Army Air Core and became a test pilot during World War II where he achieved the rank of Captain. He continued his service career in the Ohio National Guard until 1952 and continued flying until he was 80 years old. Everett was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Antioch Shrine Temple. He was an avid, devoted and active tennis supporter and player. Everett was a member and past president of The Virginia Hollinger Tennis Club in Oakwood. He established The Everett Jones Construction Company, building and remodeling many of the fine Oakwood homes and businesses. He enjoyed a long, productive and fun filled life with many friends and family. He is survived by his wife Wiladene, daughter Sharon (Ronald) Heinzeroth, of Naples, Fl. Son Ted E. (Deborah) Jones, of Punta Gorda, Fl. Grandchildren: Amy (Jason) Rock, Molly (Gergory) Priest, both of Rockford Illinois. Colin (Rachel) Jones, of Daytona Beach Fl. Great Grandchildren: Emily, Eli, Asher, Elodie and Madison. Everett donated his body to the Wright State University School of medicine. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. The family extends their gratitude and many thanks to his wonderful and devoted caregivers: Eva, Morina, Nelcia, and Monica, and friend Tony.
