BUGG, Elizabeth T. (Parsons) 91, of Fountain Hills, AZ, formerly of Phillipsburg, OH, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Born in Lincoln, NE, Elizabeth grew up in Kansas, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Ohio. She is survived by her sons Steven (& Tina) Florkey, Edward (& Karen) Florkey, Gene (& Alice) Florkey, and Richard (& Cindy) Florkey, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sister Evalyn (& Edward) Woodley, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Max Florkey and her second husband Ralph Bugg. Elizabeth held a Bachelor of Science degree in bacteriology with a chemistry minor from Purdue University and worked at Mound Laboratories. She later added a degree in education and taught elementary school. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening and art most of her life. She expressed her art in paintings, stained glass, clothing, and quilting. She started three quilting groups in Fountain Hills: Quilters of Fountain Hills, Coyote Quilters, and Loving Stitches. She stitched as many as 250 quilts, often giving them away as gifts or donations for special causes. She was an active member of the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church as a choir member, bell ringer, and elder. She also volunteered at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center, AZ, for many years. A memorial service was held in Fountain Hills, AZ, on what would have been her 92nd birthday. A memorial service will be held locally by the family.
