News Death Notice

HANNAH, Gilmore "Gil" 88, of Piqua and formerly of Lakeview passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born in Knox County, Indiana to the late Joel and Wilma (Gilmore) Hannah. He married the former Betty M. Barcus on February 7, 1946 in Dayton and she preceded him in death on February 6, 1999. Gil was also preceded in death by three daughters, Lois Ann Willett, Wilma Jean Hannah and Mary Ellen Gwin, and brother James M. Hannah. Gil was a veteran of the US Navy where he served in World War II. He worked for the US Postal Service and retired as a supervisor in 1972. Gil was a member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge #147, Antioch Shrine and Bellefontaine Commandry. He was a life-member of the Roundhead VFW Post #8832 and a member of the Indian Lake Eagles #3615 where he was a past state officer. Gil is survived by his grandson Jeremy (Virginia McBee) Stacy of Dayton, great-grandson Brandon Stacy, and many close friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center from 12 noon to 2pm with an Eagles service at 2pm. Burial will be follow at Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center with military honors provided by the Logan County Honor Guard.
