News Death Notice
CLAY, Lowell E. age 73, of Dayton, born March 1, 1941 in Ripley, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014. Lowell graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1959 and enlisted in the Marine Corps soon after. He served honorably in various locations within the United States and also, in Okinawa, Japan. His work career included NCR, City of Dayton and General Motors as an electrical engineer. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Clay; favorite niece, Rhonda Clay. He leaves to mourn his passing his brother, Ronald; sisters, Alberta and Carla; he will be greatly missed by numerous family and friends, including a niece, nephews, devoted cousins and special friends, John Painter and Elbert "Skeet" Terrell. Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, April 18, 2014 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation 9 am Friday at the funeral home until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Special appreciation is extended to the staffs at the Dayton VA Hospital, Hospice of Dayton and Good Samaritan Hospital for their kind and supportive care.
