News Death Notice
SMALL, Nancy Elaine 65, of Columbus, died Thursday, December 27, 2012. Formerly Nancy resided in Dayton, OH; Baltimore, MD; and Roanoke, VA. Nancy was a retired Columbus City school teacher with degrees from Capital University and Ohio State University. Her last teaching assignment before retiring was as the science resource teacher at Georgian Heights Alternative Elementary School. Nancy was preceded in death by her mom Anna Rosa Hamm Small and her "Pop" DeWitt C. "Sid" Small. She is survived by her aunt and uncle, Fran and Elmer Hamm of Harrisburg, PA, godsons Nathaniel and Matthew Bird and their parents Ashley and Judith Bird; special friends Brandon and Susan Love and their children Carrie and Donnie; Elizabeth Mahaffey, Judy Frech, Carol Stein and many, many other beloved friends. Private cremation by SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Nancy's memory to Haven of Hope Cancer Foundation, c/o Zangmeister Cancer Center, 3rd floor, 3100 Plaza Properties Blvd., Columbus, OH 43219. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 in the dining room at Parkside at Wesley Ridge, 2225 Taylor Park Dr. Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 to celebrate Nancy's life.
