News Death Notice
BROWN, Major USAF (Ret)., Randy 51, of Dayton formerly of Green passed away on January 23, 2013. Randy was born in Akron, Ohio on March 10, 1961. Randy attended Aviation High School in Cleveland, Ohio and immediately joined the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from Troy University in Alabama with a Bachelors of Applied Science and received his Master of Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Air University in North Dakota. He took part in military action in Grenada and Iraq during Operation Desert Storm retiring from the U.S Air Force after 30 years of service. He was currently employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in the Logistics Dept. He was a devout Christian and attended Parkside Church (Green Campus). Randy was preceded in death by his father Herrick. He is survived by his wife Kristen; daughters Patti (Jerome) Dean, Allison, Alaina and Haleigh Brown; mother Lois; sisters Sheryl (John) Symons, Sandra (Jimmy) Roeske, Christy (James) Price; grandson Caleb Dean; aunt Lucille Bennington; in-laws Terry and Ken Hines and many nephews, nieces, cousins and other family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd, Akron, OH 44319 (SR 619) with Pastor Bob Combs officiating. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 11 A.M. until time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
