News Death Notice

TAYLOR, Richard age 70, of Dayton, departed this life peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2014. Richard was born on February 22, 1944 to the late Robert and Savilla Taylor in Talladega, AL. He attended Roosevelt High School and was a Veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He later retired from General Motors following 30 yrs. of service and was a dedicated employee of Pep Boys in Trotwood, OH. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Henry L., Robert M. and Darryl Taylor and a sister, Pauline Goodwin. He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife of 31 yrs., Mary V. Taylor; (3) daughters, Michelle Taylor of St. Louis, MO, Yvette Jennings of St. Paul, MN and Pira Williams of Dayton, OH; step-sons, Anthony McGlothan of Dayton, OH, Bilal McGlothan of New Orleans, LA, Charles and Douglas McGlothan of Dayton, OH; (1) sister, Laura Butler; (1) brother, Derrick Taylor; (8) grandchildren; (15) great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., FRIDAY, July 18, 2014 at THOMAS FUNERAL HOME, 4520 Salem Ave., with Pastor Percy Williams, officiating.
