News Death Notice

IVORY, Robert age 86, of Dayton, passed away peacefully July 20, 2014 surrounded by his family. A veteran of the U. S. Navy, WWII. He retired from Monsanto Research after 25 years of service. He taught chemistry at Central State and Capitol Universities, and Sinclair Community College. Preceded in death by his mother, Cornelia Hooper Ivory; sister, Marguerite (David) Moore. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lucretia; children, Richard Ivory (Tonya), Tosha (Cal) Foster of Dayton, Pia (Anthony) Body of Portland, OR; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; devoted nephews, Anthony Moore (Shirley), David (Rita) of Cleveland, OH; many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church, 3620 Shiloh Springs Rd. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation from 9-11 am. Family will receive friends from 10-11 am. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Phillips Temple C.M.E. building fund. Condolences may be expressed at houseofwheat@woh.rr.com
