HAYES, Stanford "Stanley" "Cali" age 56, born September 6, 1957, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital. A veteran of the U. S. Army, serving 15 years of active duty and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served during the Gulf War & Desert Storm and received various decorations and awards. He later, retired from the Dayton Correctional Institute (DCI) as a Corrections Officer. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ethel Hayes. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Rhonda Hayes; sons, Damien Hayes, Sr., Donald Johnson; daughter, Ree'Neece Bailey; mother-in-law, Inez Long-Farris; brothers, Craig Hawkins, Athens GA, Terence (Rhonda) Hayes, his baby brother who was always there for him, whom he greatly loved and respected, and Teyago Hayes, Valparaiso, FL; sisters, Rhonda Hayes, Atlanta, GA, Karen Hayes, Monique (Rondale) Wheeler, Cincinnati, OH; 6 grandchildren; special loving aunts, Bertha Barney and Michal Rochelle Stephens; special cousin, Bryan Barney; numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Homegoing service will be held 12:30 pm Friday, September 27, 2013 at Faith Deliverance COGIC, 904 Vernon Drive at Riverview Ave. Pastor Terence O. Hayes, Sr., eulogist. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation 10 am Friday at the church until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
