DAY, William Monroe "Willie" born in Jamestown, Ohio Sept. 14, 1947, passed away Tuesday morning Oct. 15, 2013 at the age of 66 while at the Dayton VA. Willie was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United Sates Army. Willie is proceeded in death by his mother, Erma M. Osburn (Doster), father, Harold L. Day, grandparents, Emerson and Mabel Doster, nephew, Joshua Day, and great niece, Hailee Day. He is survived by his daughter, Shelby (Harold) Day-Vincent. Girlfriend, Freda Patterson, along with her children, Angel (Pat) Bergman, and Tony Brown. Grandchildren, Devon Wright, Chase Hensley, DJ Vincent, Heather and Sierra Faris. Great Grandchild, Olivia Monroe Morgan. Brothers, Leroy (Debbie) Day, Harold Lamar Day, and James Day. Sisters, Julie Day and Joy Day-Mueller. Nephews, Brent Day, Brad (Karyn) Day, Chad Day, Lee Day and Adam Day. Niece, Brook (Jeff) Sandlin. Numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews. Willies smile and comedic personality paved the road for the many friendships that he would make over the years. Almost fifty years of playing music in various bands locally and while in Vietnam brought smiles and joy to a diverse group of people. Using his musical talent coupled with his membership in the Ohio Rods car club his contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association were great. As a drummer for Art Harmon and the Harmonaires, the band appeared many times on the Channel 22 MDA Telethons. Willie also lent many years as the original drummer for the local band Just-n-Tyme. He had an enormous love for antique cars, fishing and enjoying the moment. He will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends. Respective of Willies wishes, no funeral service will be held. A private memorial for family and friends will be announced at a future date.
