Charles Boyd Miller, 82, passed away on July 18, 2013 in Pasadena, Texas. He was born on March 8, 1931 in Caledonia, Mississippi. He was one of twelve in his graduating class. He attended East Central Jr. College inDecator, Mississippi. In 1950,duing the Korean War,he enlisted inthe Air Force, and served four years as an Airman 1st Class. After his honorable discharge, he went to work for American Oil Co. in Texas City, Texas. In 1956, he met the love of his life, Mary Lou Wilson, and married her on Feb. 15, 1958. Charles and his family moved to Deer Park in 1961 after Hurricane Carla, and he worked for U.S.I. for 35 years until retirement. Charles and his family joined First Baptist Church of Deer Park in 1962. He loved bowling, and won many trophies with his skill. He alwalys loved motorcycles (Harley's), but traded in his ride to become a family man. If you wanted to put a smile on his face, just talk golf with him. He had become so accomplished at the game, it was said that he could have easily turned pro. He had great interest in the different wars, Civil War, World War I and II, and had a large collection of books on these wars. He could skillfully talk to you about any one of them. He was also known as being very scholarly inthe Bible, because of his research and reading. He was frequently asked by many where to find certain passages or stories in the Bible due to his knowledge.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Miller, and three daughters, Pamela Denby, Linda and Jim Sager, and Sherry Martin; grandchildren, Jason Denby, Nathan Watson, Heather Denby-Anderson, Ashley Mise, and Tanya Wood; 9 great grandchildren and 1 expected great grandchild; brothers, Ed Miller, Frank Miller, Eddy Wayne Miller; and sister, Diane Bryant.

A memorial service will take place on Monday July 22, 2013 at 10:00 am at Deer Park First Baptist Church. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at
