Phillip D. Haygood, 64, passed away peacefully on November 8th,2013.

He was the owner of The Style Shop hair salon in Deer Park for over 40 years. He made many friends along the way and kept them for life. A U.S. Marine, hunter, fisherman, and friend to many, Phillip was also an enthusiastic fan of his grandson's Deer Park High School football team and the Houston Texans. He was a devoted husband, a wonderful father to his children Flip and Kaycee, and a loving grandpa. His family was his pride and joy and everyone was his family.

The Stars and Stripes had a meaning to Phillip as a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He served as a Marine Corps Corporal in the Infantry, Co"A", 1stBn, 5thMar, 1stMarDiv, where he served his country as a Mortar Man proudly.

Survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Darla Pilkington Haygood; his precious daughter, Kaycee Haygood Hord and her husband, Thomas; grandchildren, Kyle, Kaston-Creek, Kaleb-Cache, and Kaleigh Rae Hord; brother, Wilbert Haygood and wife Sandra; sisters, Glenda Harwell and Angie Hensley; Father and Mother in-law, Jerry and Peggy Pilkington; Brother and Sister in-law, David and Penny Pilkington; as well as an abundance of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Proceeded in death by son, Phillip "Flip" Haygood Jr.; father and mother, W.T. and Mavis Haygood; sister, Janice Gegas; and niece, Laura Pilkington.

Visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 7:00PM, Friday, November 15th, at Rosewood Funeral Home, 3939 Pasadena Blvd. in Pasadena, TX. Services will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, November 16th, at Peace Lutheran Church, 6435 Fairmont Pkwy. in Pasadena, TX. Graveside Services will follow at Grand View Memorial Park, 8501 Spencer Hwy. in Pasadena, TX.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Salvation Army Pasadena, TX Corp or Peace Lutheran Church.

The family wishes to thank all of their friends for their support and prayers along with the nurses and staff at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, TX.
