Salisbury-Alfred Herman Kaiser, 81, of Salisbury, died on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Salisbury Center Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Kurt Kaiser and Frieda Brodmerkel Kaiser Olsen.
He was a US Army veteran having served 8 years during the Korean Conflict, where he was wounded. Alfred was a proud member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He retired as Vice-President of Bay Ridge Federal Savings and Loan and then moved to the Eastern Shore in 1995.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gerda; 2 sons, Roy and his wife, Carol of Bowie, MD and their 2 sons and grandchildren and Ronald of Wattsville, VA; a brother, Raymond of Westover, MD; and a sister, Thelma Arion and family of New Church, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Bethany Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A committal with military honors will be held at Pitts Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Pocomoke City following a reception. Rev. Kevin Wackett will officiate.
