Carl Morton, Sr.
Upper Marlboro-Carl "Moonie" Morton, Sr., 67, of here, departed this life on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham. Born in Farmville, VA, he was the son of the late Doris Morton Jones.
Mr. Morton was a member of Greater Mt. Nebo A.M.E. Church in Bowie and a former member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Pocomoke City.
In the 1980's, he was a Salisbury Police Officer. He later became a Maintenance Mechanic at Trinity College in Washington, D.C.
Fond memories will be cherished by: his wife of 22 years, Doretta Morton of Upper Marlboro; four sons, Carl (Kurlene) Morton, Jr. of Salisbury, Craig (Janeen) Morton of Crofton, Corey (Shane) Morton of Salisbury, and Carlos (Shanita) Jones of Columbia; two stepdaughters, Tawauna Murphy of Upper Marlboro and Tiffany Wilson of Salisbury; three sisters, Linda (Luther) Milbourne of Salisbury, Barbara Jean Smothers of Randallstown and Sheila (Anthony) Webb of Columbia, SC; three aunts, Martha Morton, Margie Anderson and Dora Hall; three uncles, James Morton, Lloyd Morton and Pernell Morton; five sisters-in-law; four other brothers-in-law; 17 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, other in-laws, and friends.
Mr. Morton will lie in repose on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A. located on 1618 West Road in Salisbury and Saturday from 10 to 11 AM at First Baptist Church located on 528 Booth Street and Delaware Avenue in Salisbury. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Rev. Dr. Jonathan L. Weaver will be the Officiant. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Park, Inc. located West Road in Salisbury.
