Clarence "Cal" Burley

SALISBURY, MD-Clarence "Cal" Burley left this earth to be with his heavenly Father on May 10, 2014. He was the son of Claire and Esther Stahl Burley, born on May 22, 1921, in Juniata, PA.

He served his country during WW II in the Army Air Corp and again during the Korean War with the American Red Cross. It was in recognition of his service with the 5th Regimental Combat Team that he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

He then spent most of his life serving as a coach, educator and counselor. He was a devout Christian who firmly believed in modern day miracles and God's presence in day to day life.

Mr. Burley is survived by two daughters, Teresa Twilley and her husband Creig of Snow Hill, and Barbara Rodgers and her husband Craig of Baltimore. He was also the proud grandfather of Sara Brinker, Justin Bradford, Aaron Twilley and Ian Twilley, and four great-grandchildren, Mazie and Madison Brinker and Nate and Caleb Bradford.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday May 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Salisbury, MD.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to The United Methodist Home for Children, 5120 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg, PA. 17050-3627.
