Clifton Odell Dockins

Hebron-- Clifton Odell Dockins, 80 of Hebron, MD, died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake.

Born in Dorchester County, MD, he was the son of the late Isaac Chase and Mildred Dockins and cherished as a son by Elizabeth Chase.

He was a graduate of the former St. Clair High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1956 where he served in Vietnam. He retired and received an honorable discharge in 1975. Upon his return to the Eastern Shore, he was employed with the former Firestone Plastics for 10 years, while also being a Wicomico County School Bus contractor. He was a faithful member of New Dimensions Ministries until failing health.

He is survived by his devoted wife Anna Mae Dockins of Hebron, MD; Elizabeth Chase of Vienna, MD, whom he cherished as a mother, his children: Beverly Jackson, Dr. Lawanda Dockins-Mills (Tyrone), all of Hebron, MD; COL (R) Chauncey Dockins (Cynthia) of Elkridge, MD, Anitra Appleby (Rev. T. J.) of Springfield, MO, and Robin Hull of Delmar, MD; special sons-in-love: Tyrone Mills, Howard "Moonie" Robinson, Stephon Shivers and Lorenzo Beach, and one special daughter-in-love, Mary Holmes. He is also survived by one brother-in-law, Gilbert (Bertina) Jones of Dover, DE, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, a beloved grandson, Victor Jackson preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2014 at New Dimensions Ministries, 1907 Jersey Road, Salisbury, MD where friends may call on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 6-8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, one hour prior to service. A military interment will take place at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD.

Funeral services are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel of Salisbury, MD.
