Cynthia T. Borga
Seaford-Cynthia T. Borga, age 66, of Seaford, Delaware passed away on February 10, 2014.
Cindy was born in Columbus, Ohio a daughter of the late Alfred and Bette Treherne. She grew up in Chevy Chase and attended Western Maryland College.
Mrs. Borga retired officially as a school teacher from Seaford Senior High School with 25 years of service; but never stopped being a trusted advisor, mentor and cherished friend to all. Her life philosophy and legacy was to find humor, joy, value and appreciation in each and every day. She had an undeniable connection with her students in and out of the classroom. She served as a class advisor, honor society advisor, cheerleading coach and was a life coach and confidant to all of her students. Cindy also volunteered at The Ross Mansion, enjoyed her book clubs and monthly retired teachers club luncheons with "The Old Birds".
Cindy's greatest joy in life was by far her family, she is survived by her Loving Hovering Helicopter Daughters and Super Hero Son-in-laws, Adrienne Short and husband David of Parsonsburg and Devon Eastlack and husband Sam of Selbyville. Her adoring grandchildren, Jared(16), Hayley(13), Brogan(8), Gannon(5) and twins Ramsey(2) and Jaxton(2). Her younger brother, David Treherne of Salisbury along with a treasured niece Deirdre Clem and her children; great nieces, Alessandra, Liliana, Victoria Ramos of Philadelphia. She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, extended family, devoted loyal friends, colleagues and "Peeps"; along with so many admiring students.
She is preceded in death by her Husband and College Sweet Heart of 42 years Jerry Borga (2011) and her cherished sister Betheny Clem.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department 205 w. 10th St. Laurel, DE at 11:00 am, where a viewing will be held from 10-11:00 am. A viewing will also be held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home 700 West St. Laurel, DE on Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 pm. Interment will be held at a later date in Wicomico Memorial Park.
