Delmar—Everett Thomas Ellis, Jr. ("Tom" "Snazzy") went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2013, after a short illness. He passed peacefully at Coastal Hospice in Salisbury.
Born on June 16, 1945, in Delmar, Delaware, to the late Everett Thomas Ellis, Sr. and Irene Cora Cline-Ellis, he attended Delmar Elementary and later graduated from Delmar High School. Snazzy was the very first Delaware State Wrestling Champion for Delmar High School. He served his country in the US Navy, completing two tours of duty in Vietnam. Snazzy was a Laurel Police Officer and a top-notch car salesman at Price Buick-Pontiac in Salisbury. In addition, he was a diehard Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan.
Snazzy is survived by his brother, Joseph James Ellis, Sr. (loving sister-in-law Sharon), of Salisbury; his loving sister, Jennifer Lee Sullivan (and dear friend, Bud Schevel) of Millsboro; and his two aunts, Patricia Ann Willey of Delmar, Delaware, and Jeannie A. Broughton of Salisbury. Tom is also survived by one daughter, Stephanie Lynne Tyre and her children, Joseph, Jr., Branden, Robert, Jessica, Jimmy, Jr. and Jayme-Lynne; and three sons, Everett Thomas Ellis, III (wife Melissa) and their children, Tristan Gage Ellis and Aidan Elijah Ellis; David Troy Ellis (wife Sarah) and their daughter, Sydney Irene Ellis; and Daniel Aaron Ellis and his children, Autumn Savannah Ellis and Ava Dakota Ellis. Snazzy is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all his loved ones, his friends, and his beloved dog, Doodles.
In addition to his parents, Snazzy was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Ann Young, and his son, John Albert Ellis, Sr.
The family expresses their deepest thanks to Caitlin Harman, a social worker at Coastal Hospice, for her special care and concern during a most difficult time.

Services for Snazzy will be held on Sunday, March 24th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
