Crisfield—Henry P. "Hank" Davidowicz, 87, of Crisfield and formerly of Baltimore, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at his home.
Born in Baltimore on December 15, 1924, he was the son of the late Konstanty and Anna Xzymanski Davidowicz.
He was a retired inspector for the former Koppers Manufacturing Company in Baltimore working 34 years before his retirement in 1984. Following retirement, his family moved to Crisfield.
A US Navy veteran of World War II, he was a Torpedoman's mate Second Class serving on the Navy vessels USS Monssen and USS O'Hare. While in Baltimore, he was a member of St. Athanasius Roman Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He was a handyman who could fix anything, and was proud of the three homes he built for his family. He also enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Kathleen Latwig Davidowicz of Crisfield; three daughters, Judy Roth and Janet Lyman, both of Leesburg, VA and Joyce Davidowicz of Crisfield; three grandchildren, George Roth and wife Amanda of Bridgeville, DE, Jessica Lyman of Ballston, VA, and Alexandra Lyman of Leesburg; five great-grandsons, Gabriel, Joshua and Nathan Roth, and Bragg and Tyler Davis; and a brother, Ronald Davidowicz of Cambridge.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
A funeral service with military honors provided by the US Navy will be held Friday, December 14, 2012 at 1 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Deacon Tom Cimino will officiate. Interment will be private.
