Jay Amos Cannon

Salisbury-Jay Amos Cannon, 66, died on August, 5, 2014 in PRMC due to a brief and unexplained illness.

He was born in Salisbury on May 10, 1948 to Joseph Washington Cannon and Alice Tingle

Cannon. He has lived in Parsonsburg for 41 years with his wife, Karen Howard Cannon. He

was a 1967 graduate of Wicomico Senior High and was a veteran of the United States Navy

where he served with the HC7 Rescue Helicopter Crew. He was a proud Vietnam Vet. He

retired from Crown, Cork and Seal Co. with 30 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Howard Cannon; his only son, Michael Jay

Cannon, who admired his dad so much, and his two loving dogs, Bonnie Blue and Harley Hannah.

He will be missed beyond words.. Jay will be remembered by many for his friendship, kind

heart, love of life and the uncountable good deeds that he did for so many people and

organizations. He has touched so many people in his life of 66 years.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home in

Salisbury with visitation for family and friends from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. prior to

the service. Military honors and Interment will follow at Springhill Memorial Gardens in

Hebron. Pastor Bill Green of Christ United Methodist Church in Salisbury will officiate. A

gathering for fellowship and food will then take place at the Tony Tank Red Men's Lodge in

Fruitland, Md.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations (in the name of Jay Cannon ID#313215) may be

made to the Civil War Trust, Hagerstown, Md., 21740 to preserve America's Civil War

Battlefields which was a great passion of Jay's so that this crucial history of America will be told

for many years to come.
