HEBRON-Jean Bounds, 80, of Hebron entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013. Born in Hebron, she was the daughter of the late C. Alton Hastings and Edna Cooper Hastings.
After graduating from Hebron High School in 1951, Mrs. Bounds worked as a primary school teacher at Westside Primary and then graduated from Wicomico Vocational School as an LPN in 1975. She worked at Deer's Head Hospital until her retirement in 1993. She was a very active lifetime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Hebron and was an avid and devoted Baltimore Orioles Fan.
She is survived by a son, Charles Bounds and his wife, Melody; daughter, Sally Hastings; 10 grandchildren, Jaimee (Adam) Welch, Lauren (Jamie) Richardson, Charlsy Bounds, Erika (Billy) Croswell, Jeremy York, Virginia Pilchard, Dennis Hughes, Laura (Jason) Hughes-Brown, Amber Bounds, Michael (Brittany) Bounds; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Bounds; son, Alan Bounds; daughter, Amy Vaughn; and two brothers, James Hastings and William Hastings.
A funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury. Betty Latourney will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Friends may call Sunday, Dec. 29, from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
