Pocomoke -Kenneth Thomas Schoolfield, son of Herbert Schoolfield, and the late Hattie Townsend Schoolfield, was born June 8, 1963 in Pocomoke, Maryland . He departed this life on Thursday, March 6, 2014, while residing in Las Vegas, Nevada, following a brief illness.
Kenny, as he was known, was educated in the Worcester County Public School System. From there he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served honorably. After serving in the Navy, he worked various jobs locally. He enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with his family and friends. After visiting several states, he decided to make Las Vegas his home. While there, he attended churches and often spoke of God's goodness with his family. He also developed a close relationship with his cousin, (Micey) William Schoolfield, Jr.
Kenny will be deeply missed. He had a sweet spirit and was a kind and caring person. He was outgoing, had a great sense of humor, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Left to cherish precious memories are: his father Herbert Schoolfield of Pocomoke, Maryland; brothers Kevin Schoolfield of Salisbury, Maryland, Melvin Schoolfield of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gregory Palmer of New Brunswick, New Jersey, and Ronta Dickerson of Norfolk, Virginia; sister Joyce Schoolfield of Pocomoke, Maryland; Aunt Joyce Bryce (Ronald) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Uncle William Schoolfield, Sr. (Barbara) Pocomoke, Maryland as well as great aunts, nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Townsend Schoolfield, whom he loved dearly, grandparents Joseph and Etta Schoolfield and Johnny and Marie Lankford Townsend, aunts Geneva Cave, Montrue Green and Marie Sturgis; uncles Ernest and Ralph Schoolfield and other beloved uncles as well.
A funeral service will be held today at 2pm at Miracle Deliverance Tabernacle, Pocomoke, Md with viewing one hour prior to service.
