Maurice James Brimer

Pocomoke-Maurice James Brimer, 78, passed away on April 20, 2014 at Hartley Hall Nursing Home.

Born in Pocomoke, he was a son of the late Melvin and Mildred Brimer.

Maurice was an animal lover and caring family man. As a young man he served in the Army. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. In his later years he enjoyed the time he spent at Pocomoke's Wal-Mart Super Center as a greeter at the front door, where was affectionately known by his co-workers as, "Mr. Maurice".

He is survived by his wife, Janice of Pocomoke; step daughter, Diane Yaffe, also of Pocomoke and step son, Doug (Brenda) Gladding of Parksley, VA; two grandchildren, Bo Webb and Kristi Webb, both of Pocomoke; one great grandson, Derek Harmon; one sister, Laura Mae Smith of Virginia Beach, VA, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth, and Edward, as well as his first wife, Judy.

A private memorial service will be held at later time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any local animal shelter or rescue of your choice.
