Parsonsburg-Paul R. Brittingham, 84, of Parsonsburg, died April 14, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Powellville, he was the son of the late George and Blanche Brittingham.
He served two years in the Korean War. He was an insurance agent for State Farm, a building inspector for J. Roland Dashiel, was a farmer and broiler grower, and a member of the V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris (Dewey); a daughter Terry Sparrow and her husband Danny; a son Gary; four grandchildren, Scott, Brian, Ashley, and Shannon; and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Louise Burbage, several nieces and nephews, two sister-in-laws Lena Butler and Evelyn Brittingham. He was preceded in death by two sisters Eunice Dennis and Mary Ann Jones, and four brothers Robert, James, Maurice and Clayton.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Friends and family may call on Friday, 7 - 8 p.m. at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 E. Main Street, Salisbury. Rev. Paul Sherwood will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul's name may be made to: Muscular Dystrophy Assn., 3300 E.
