W. Lee Messick

SALISBURY-W. Lee Messick, 65, of Salisbury passed away Monday October 21, 2013, at home, after a long battle with lung cancer. Born in Salisbury on August 24, 1948, he was the son of the late Willis and Jean Messick. Lee retired from Verizon after more than 30 years as a cable splicer. For many of those years he was a volunteer fireman at Station 1 in Salisbury. He was a true Eastern Shoreman who loved fishing and duck hunting on the Chesapeake Bay. During his retired years, many of his weekends were spent at auction sales buying or selling antiques and collectibles.

Lee is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janet (Bradford) Messick; his children Sean (Michele), Laura, Jeremy and Justin; his grandchildren Gabrielle, Wyatt and Kylie. Also surviving is a sister Carol McAllister and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Kay Early.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Salisbury Fire Department Station 1 on Beaglin Park Dr in Salisbury.
