Age 87, of Wilmington, DE, was at home surrounded by his loving family when he went to the Lord on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 to see his beloved wife, Rita, of 60 years, along with parents, siblings and two baby daughters.
Born in Wilmington, Albert was the son of the late Albert and Adaline Anthony. He was very proud to be a veteran of World War II. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific on two destroyers, USS Whitney and the USS Foote, and a troop transport, USS Maui. Albert retired as a Supervisor from General Motors after 37 years of dedicated service.
Albert was blessed throughout his life with having many wonderful friends. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Wilkinson and her husband, Paul; his son, Albert "Bud" Anthony and his wife, Denise and their daughters, Lauren and Morgan Kushner; his granddaughter, Elyse Ratsep and her husband, Timothy; and his precious great grandchildren, Gwyneth and Timothy II. Also surviving is his sister, Elmira Weldin; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 26 at 10:30 am at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington where visitation will begin after 9:30 am. Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Disabled American Veterans, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805.
