Edward J. Brzoski

AGE: 85 • Wilmington

Edward Joseph Brzoski, age 85, of Wilmington (Richardson Park), DE went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 3, 2014. Ed was born on October 2, 1928 to Anna and Bronislaus Brzoska. He was married to his sweetheart, the late Anne H. Brzoski for 37 years.

After serving in the United States Navy during World War II, Ed moved to Los Angeles, CA following an Honorable Discharge in 1949. While in California, Ed worked as an Electrician for the Local Electric Union and was part owner of the Grand Prix Foreign Car Service. Formerly of Hedgeville, Ed rejoined his family in Delaware in 1969 and spent the next ten years designing and building his dream home with his family. Ed worked as an electrician for the University of Delaware until he retired in 1991.

Ed enjoyed everything to do with the outdoors: hunting and fishing, boating and westerns. Most weekends you could find him either at Delaware Park or the Farmers Market where he was fondly known as "Dollar Ed".

Ed is survived by his two brothers: Frank Brzoska and Stanley Brzoski; five children: Debra Jansz, Ed Cosgrove, Linda Cosgrove, Brian Cosgrove, and Debra Taylor; four grandchildren: Brian Cosgrove, Jr., Lindsey Turner, Andrea Lasana, and Wendy Pleasant; and three great-grandchildren: Sebastian Cosgrove, Lucy Lasana, and Reece Cosgrove.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Bronislaus Brzoska; his wife, Anne Brzoski; his son, Paul Jansz; two brothers: William and Anthony Brzoska; and three sisters: Josephine Sliwinski, Hattie Balinski, and Anne Borkowski.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 10-10:30 AM in Corpus Christi Church, 901 New Road, Wilmington (Elsmere), DE 19805 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30. Interment at the Cathedral Cemetery will be private.
