Eunice Charlotte Brumm Lanzl

AGE: 95 • formerly of Wilmington

Eunice Charlotte Brumm Lanzl, 95, widow of Dr. George Frank Lanzl, died Sunday, February 9, 2014. Born in Libertyville, IL, she was the daughter of the late Ida Uhl and Charles Brumm. Mrs. Lanzl attended Depauw University in Illinois where she met her husband. His work with Dupont took them to many different states. After his death in 1983, she lived in Wilmington, DE until moving to Greenville in 1998 to be with her son and grandchildren. Her interests included music, painting, and writing. She created many stories and poems especially for young children and encouraged her grandchildren to write as well. Her paintings included portraits of the people and things she loved most - her family and her flowers.

Surviving are two sons, Steven George Lanzl and wife Connie of Greenville and Bruce Frank Lanzl and wife Mami of Carlsbad, CA; five grandchildren, Amanda Lanzl Salas and husband Dan, Brett G. Lanzl and wife Abby, and Drew B. Lanzl, all of Greenville, Justin Lanzl and Caylyn Lanzl of Carlsbad, CA; and their mother, Cathy Lanzl; four great grandchildren, Ava and Rowan Lanzl, and Luca and Noah Salas; nephew, Charles Brumm; and niece, Penny Graeff. The family would like to express special thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Teresa Hill, Darlene Phillips, Beverly Hellams, Michelle Hargro, and Angie Smith, as well as the staff at Amedisys Hospice.

Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 501 Duncan Road, Wilmington, DE 19809 or the . A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will follow in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Wilmington, DE.
