Frank P. Colatriano

Frank P. Colatriano, age 91, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at Foulk Manor with his family at his side on June 19, 2013.

He was born in Vineyard, PA, one of fourteen children, to the late Joseph and Mary (Nemish) Colatriano. He graduated from Mt. Union High School in PA and attended Penn State University and the University of Illinois. He joined the Naval Reserves and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in 1942 to 1945.

Mr. Colatriano worked for several companies as a metallurgist and engineer. He later worked for the Hagley Museum as a historian and tour guide. He also worked as a security supervisor for the Salem Nuclear Power Plant in Salem, NJ.

He was a member of the Archeological Society of DE. His loves were archeology, religion and history. He loved traveling, reading and studying archeology.

Mr. Colatriano was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church for 47 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Louise (Pierce) Colatriano, one daughter, Diana Hancock and her husband Terrence K. of Wilmington, three grandchildren, Jeff, Melissa and Timothy, 4 great grandchildren, two brothers, David and William Colatriano and one sister, Elizabeth Cahall.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 25, at 11 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 2101 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19805, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10 am. Entombment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Zion Lutheran Church at the above address.
