Giacomo "Jack" Manerchia, Sr.

Age 82, of Wilmington, DE, peacefully passed away Sunday morning, October 27, 2013, at his home with his family at his side.

Jack was born, December 9, 1930, son of the late Angelo and Redda "Tooti" (Jacona) Manerchia. He was a graduate of Eddystone HS in Eddystone, PA. After high school, Jack enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. After the war, he went back to school and became a successful barber for 20 years. Then Jack worked at the Chrysler plant in Newark, DE for 15 years until he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Clarine (Limmina)Manerchia; his 4 children, Angelo, Jack, Jr., John and Michael Manerchia; his 5 grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Angelo, Jr., Adam and Emily Manerchia and 4 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4701 Weldin Road(at Shipley Rd), Wilmington on Monday, November 4, at 11 AM, where a visitation will be held from 10-11 AM. Burial will be in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Wilmington VA Medical Center, Atten: Volunteer Services, 1601 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19805.
