Glenn Mabry

AGE: 70 • Earleville

Glenn Francis Mabry, 70 of Earleville, MD, died April 23, 2014 at home.

Glenn was born on July 13, 1943 in Wilmington, DE, son of Ebenezer F. Mabry and Doris Brice. As a young boy he moved to Cecil County where he lived in Chesapeake City and Earleville. He served with the Maryland National Guard in Elkton for several years and started his career at General Motors. With technical training Glenn worked for WSFS and PSFS as a computer programmer, retiring in 2009. Glenn was an avid sports enthusiast and spent many years playing fast pitch softball in Cecil County. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, hunting, crabbing and golfing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Matthews and a sister, Martha Robertson.

Glenn is survived by his father, Ebenezer 'Reb' Mabry of Wilmington, DE; his children, Michael Mabry (Marcia) of Galena, MD, John S. Mabry (Ann) of St. Louis, MO, and Jennifer E. Mabry of Chesapeake City, MD; 2 sisters, Jean Fisher of Wilmington, DE and Carolyn McCumber of Aberdeen, MD; brother, Charles 'Chuck' Matthews of Earleville, MD; his companion of 13 years, Betty Sweet; grandchildren, Casey, Cayla, J T., Danielle, Nicole and Samantha Mabry and Trevor, Olivia and Emma Long and his black lab, Smokey.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 28 at 1 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where friends may call from 12 to 1pm.

Memorials may be offered to the or Ducks Unlimited in c/o the funeral home.
