Harry W. Adams, age 86 of Claymont, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2014, with his family by his side.

Born on October 25, 1927, in Bridgeton, NJ, Harry was the son of the late N. Preston and Edith (Wisham) Adams.

Harry was a graduate of Bridgeton High School and the Antonelli School of Photography in Philadelphia. He enlisted with the US Army in 1949 and served as a Photo Lithographer and Photographer with the AA & GM branch of the artillery school in Fort Bliss, Texas. Harry later graduated from Officer Candidate School and was assigned to the Signal Corps Pictorial Center in Long Island, NY. He saw duty as Photo Officer with the First Calvary Division in Japan.

Upon his discharge from the Army, he attended the Art Center School in Los Angeles, CA. While in California, he married Ceola S. Fennimore, also from Bridgeton, NJ. They moved to Delaware in 1955. Harry worked the next 40-plus years as a commercial photographer at several photographic studios, both in Wilmington and southeastern Pennsylvania. He created the Photographic Department at the Franklin Mint, serving as Director of Photography for 15 years until his retirement in 1983. Upon retirement he worked as a freelance photographer and artist with a focus on silk-screening and mixed media. In 1986, he started the Photographic Department at QVC Network in West Chester, PA. In 1992, he left QVC to start a photographic facility for The Eastwood Company in Malvern, PA.

In his free time, Harry enjoyed gardening - he took great pride in his yard. He built model trains and liked to listen to classical music. He adored animals, especially his cat, Shante. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his five grandchildren - taking trips to Fox Point Park or to the local creek.
