Howard Marc Weinman

Howard Marc Weinman, 71, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 2.

Howard was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio to Dr. S. Frank and Rosabelle Speer Weinman. He graduated from Tulane University, and continued on to receive a MBA from Western Reserve University. Howard served his country as a Signalman in the US Coast Guard.

He worked in sales for DuPont for 35 years and for the Bemis Co. for 11 years. Most recently, he was a Sr. Regional Sales Manager for Clysar LLC.

Howard is survived by his daughter Jennifer and her husband Ralph Rossini, grandson Ryan and step grandson Jason, a sister Barbara and her husband Burt Weinman Mannis, and his long-time companion Cynthia de Leon. Howard leaves behind 2 nieces, Judy and her husband Charles Mannis Goldberg and Susie Mannis Sigman, a nephew Michael Mannis, several great nieces and nephews, the mother of his daughter, Joan Marx Weinman, and many close friends.

Howard made life long friends through his school, Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity, community and work. His ability to hear people and understand their perspective combined with his integrity made him a success personally and professionally. Howard had an inquisitive nature and loved to understand the why of things.

Howard was a generous friend who supported his family and friends throughout his life. An ear, a hug, "I understand" and being there through thick and thin, we could depend on him.

The 2 most memorable days in his life were the days his daughter Jennie and grandson Ryan were born. His pride In Jennie knew no bounds. The last 2 ½ years he reveled in watching Ryan grow. His face lite up and all was good when he heard "Hi Poppy".

In the last 6 years, he found his life partner, Cynthia. Together they shared his passion for college football, most particularly The Ohio State Buckeyes, New Orleans, wines and sharing everyday with a true soul mate. The last 2 years being grandparents were at the top of the list.

Annually Howard returned to Cleveland to vie for the KRS Poker Bowl championship. His 2007 Hold-Em trophy was a prized possession. Twice a year Howard went to Las Vegas with his life long friends. It was there he suffered a heart attack and died. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at 11 am on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803.
