The Guest Book is expired.
Jera Lin Stone, 40, of Wilmington, formerly of Rising Sun, MD died on December 12, 2013 after a brief illness.
Jera was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan and moved to the United States at age eighteen to attend college in Wichita, Kansas, majoring in journalism. After graduation, she moved to Oklahoma City where she worked as a newspaper editor and writer and also worked at Spaghetti Warehouse where she met her future husband, Hawk. Jera and Hawk were the proud parents of two daughters and after Hawk's untimely death in 2004, Jera and her daughters moved east to be closer to family. Then, Jera devoted her life to being a stay at home mom, supporting the family as a free lance writer and also working as a hostess at the Concord Pike Red Lobster restaurant. A quiet person, she loved to ice skate, read and watch movies, but her greatest happiness in her life was being a Mom.
Jera is survived by her two daughters, Tesa and Isabel of Wilmington; her parents, Justin and Sandy Lynn of Taiwan; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gloria and Richard Kilby of Colora, MD; her brother, Jackey Lin of Taiwan; and 3 sisters-in-law: Kim DeLeon, Melanie Harrison and Amanda Kilby.
A visitation will be held from 6-7pm, Friday, December 20 at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Talleyville (Route 202, south of Silverside Rd.), where a memorial service will be held at 7pm.
