Jack Zufelt, age 77, passed away suddenly on Friday December 14, 2012.

Jack was born in Sheboygan, WI, the son of Jerry and Eileen Zufelt. After graduation from the University of Notre Dame in 1958, he joined Dupont as a chemical Engineer at the Montague, MI plant. He also worked in Louisville, KY, LaPlace, LA and Wilmington, DE.

Jack loved to sing. During his college years, he was a proud member of the University of Notre Dame Glee Club. In the Delaware area, he sang with The Mary Greene Singers and Delaware Valley Chorale, church choirs and other vocal groups.

He was also a devoted Notre Dame fan. For many years he was an active member of the local Alumni Association in the area where he was living.

Jack is survived by his wife, Emily; his six children, Jerry (Edie) of Greensburg, PA, Nancy Lamothe (Steve) of Colchester, VT, Colleen (John Wise) of Wilmington, Michele DellaFera (Joseph) of Landenberg, PA, John (Dea) of Wilmington, Jim Kiley-Zufelt (Mike) of Collingswood, NJ; his grandchildren, Mark, Victoria, and Timothy Zufelt; Jereme, Christopher, Daniel, and Peter Lamothe; Matthew and Daniel Tomczak; Brian and Emily DellaFera; Michael, Kevin and Joseph Zufelt; his sister Peg Ludwig of South Padre Island, TX, his brother-in-law, John Kline (Jan) of Brownsburg, IN and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday December 21, 2012 at Cathedral of St. Peter, 6th and West Streets, Wilmington. Friends may call at CHANDLER FUNERAL HOMES, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington from 11:00 to 1:00 pm prior to the Mass.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's name to the Notre Dame Club of Delaware Endowed Scholarship Fund, c/o The University of Notre Dame, 1100 Grace Hall, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
