John (Jack) Vincent Nevers of Hockessin, DE, died peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2014. He was 71 years old. Son of the late John and Katherine Nevers, Jack was born and raised in Massachusetts. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Chemical Engineering, received his MBA from Rutgers University and a PhD in Marketing and Statistics from Purdue University. Jack spent 25 years working for DuPont and DuPont Merck Pharmaceutical Company and retired in 1994 as Director of Administration for Research and Development. Jack was an avid student of life. He enjoyed traveling around the world and continued his life-long pursuit of learning and education by attending classes at the University of Delaware after his retirement. He also spent time as an adjunct college professor teaching marketing at Goldey Beacom College. Jack was a well-read intellectual, he thoroughly enjoyed analyzing the financial markets and building computers as a hobby.
Most important to Jack was his family. He raised his two daughters as a single parent while managing his career at DuPont. He was a regular at his grandchildren's school and sporting events. He was a center point for the family and was passionate about creating events to bring his busy family together.
Jack was a dedicated father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his loving daughters, Lori Louthan and Carolynn Nevers; his son-in-law, Jack Louthan; four precious grandchildren, Carter Marks, Samantha Louthan, Gavin Marks and Jake Louthan; sisters, Judith Nevers and Janet Giroux and her husband Joseph; nephews, Joseph Calabrese, David Calabrese and Michael Giroux, along with many extended family members and friends. Jack will be greatly missed by all.

Jack's family would like to thank the staff at Seasons Hospice, Millcroft Senior Center, Christiana Hospital and the University of Maryland Medical Center for their care and attention.
